Federal Regulations

A good starting point for regulatory research on clean air is the EPA Regulations page.  Here, you can begin to find documentation for the many EPA areas of Clean Air regulation:

  • National Ambient Air Quality Standards (NAAQS)
  • Preconstruction Review: New Source Review Program
    • Prevention of Significant Deterioration (PSD) program for attainment areas
    • Nonattainment area NSR program
  • New Source Performance Standards (NSPS)
  • Control of Hazardous Air Pollutants (HAPs)
    • National Emissions Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants (NESHAPS)
    • Maximum Achievable Control Technology (MACT)
    • Generally Available Control Technologies (GACT)
    • Residual Risk Standards
    • Accidental Release Program/Risk Management Plans

Florida Legislation

The Florida Department of Evironmental Protection regulates air under Fla. Stat. Ch. 403.  The Florida Department of Health has regulatory authority for indoor air under Fla. Stat. Ch. 386 and for radiation under Fla. Stat. Ch. 404.

The most important provisions for Florida's air resource management program are listed on the DEP website. DEP's powers to regulate air pollution are in Fla. Stat.  § 403.061.
