U.N. Oceans and Law of the Sea

The Division for Ocean Affairs and the Law of the Sea of the Office of Legal Affairs contributes to the wider acceptance and rational and consistent application of the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS).

The Division monitors developmetns in all relevant areas and reports annually to the General Assembly on matters relating to the law of the sea and ocean affairs. The Division also provides recommendations relating to UNCLOS as well assists countries with information and advice relating to UNCLOS and relevant agreements.
