Research Center Technology: Surface Hub Monitors

This research guide is about Research Center technology, covering printing services, adding money to an FSUCard, the Smart Board, document scanning, photocopiers, equipment loans and more.


Rooms L310 and L311 each have a Microsoft Surface Hub. 

  • Each Surface Hub is a large touch screen, responsive PC. 
  • Login and save content to your OneDrive account.
  • You can use Office365 including email, Word, PowerPoint and Excel. 
  • A pen is kept charged on the side of the Surface Hub that can be used with the Whiteboard.  
  • Keyboards are available for checkout at the Circulation Desk.
  • The Keyboards attach wirelessly to the surface hub but are not required, a great deal can be done on the touch screen. 
  • Windows based laptops can connect wirelessly via Miracast.

This video provides a good overview of Surface Hub features. The software version demonstrate here is slightly different but very similar. The version of Skype used in this video is more full featured than what we have, but we are working on upgrading the current Skype.
