Journal Subciting Guide: What resources are available to the Journals?

Searching the catalogs and requesting items from other libraries

Use the tabs above for guidance on finding specific types of materials. If you've exhausted the above methods and still cannot locate a resource or decode a citation, reach out to the librarians using our Ask-a-Librarian form. Let us know where you've checked and give us the full citation and we will help!

Where can I borrow from?

The College of Law Research Center has access to an exhaustive amount of research materials needed for students to complete Journal and Law Review editing. We have:

  • Books and ebooks in our stacks and available through other campus libraries
  • Books available within the state through our UBorrow program and across the U.S. using Inter-library Loan
  • Journals and other subscription-based materials both in print and through many online databases
  • Newspapers, magazines, and periodicals in print, microfiche, and electronic databases
  • Government documents published in official sources (and many freely available online linked within our catalog)
  • Historic legal materials in our special collections

Between the extensive collections available at FSU, from other Florida State Colleges and Universities, and a Global inter-library loan process, we can retrieve nearly any published material for research.

NOTE: Our ILL service is different from the one used by main campus.DO NOT fill out any ILL requests through Strozier's web portal, it will likely be cancelled.

Perma... A Great New Tool!

Because websites change, go away, and are taken down.

How frustrating is it when you click on a link within an article, only to find that the link is broken?

"Perma"  is a service that allows users to create PERMANENT citation links!  Here's how it works:  After a paper is submitted to a journal, the journal staff tests the link, adds the "Perma" portion to the url, and the link is "vested", or permanently preserved. Then when readers click on the Permalink, they are taken to a page that links them to the original web source, along with the archived version stored by Perma.cc.
